VOLUNTEER/FOSTER
Love is all you needOur volunteers and fosters are an integral part of what we do, and we are constantly in need of fosters and volunteers. Fostering helps us save lives by providing a temporary, loving, and restful retreat for animals in need. We provide all supplies and cover all vet care; fostering does not cost you anything but time and love!
We are always in need of volunteers! From helping at our events to taking care of animals and assisting at the clinic, we have several volunteer opportunities available.

FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIENDOne of the best ways to reduce the overpopulation of stray or unwanted pets is to adopt! Our rescue program is for dogs, cats, birds, guniea pigs, ferrets and small animals that are pulled from community owners and local municipal shelters. Transports are utilized often, and our partnerships with our networking rescues are invaluable. We are proud to uphold an unfaltering relationship with the Bulloch County Animal Shelter and its wonderful staff.
All of our animals are spayed/neutered and given all vaccinations before they are released to their new home.

Meet Jagger! 🩵
At 3.5 months old, Jagger is already handsome as ever and fully aware of it. He’s got the charm, the cuddles, and the perfect amount of puppy to keep you on your toes!
He’s got some strong opinions on his crate at first (cue the dramatic puppy cries), but don’t worry, he settles down quickly once he realizes his protest isn’t winning any awards. 😅
Jagger LOVES other dogs and is mildly suspicious of cats. He’s not quite sure what their deal is yet, but he’s warming up to them (from a safe distance, of course).
Laid-back, lovable, and always looking for a lap to lounge on. He’s a certified cuddle bug who believes your lap, your couch, and your personal space belong to him! 🥰

There’s something truly beautiful about a mama’s love—whether human or animal. It’s instinctive. It’s fierce. It’s selfless. A mama loves, sacrifices, and grieves just the same, no matter the species.
Mama dog, now named Thumbelina, showed up at a stranger’s door, alone and desperate, her belly extremely swollen. No collar. No chip. No one searching for her. Just a scared, pregnant mama looking for a safe place to bring her babies into the world. 💔
Not long after she arrived, her labor began. It started with heartbreak- a stillborn pup. Then, another pup became stuck in the birth canal. Mama fought with everything she had, but she was losing.
With no time to spare, she had to trust the hands of strangers, who rushed her to the closest vet for an emergency C-section. It was her only chance.
She made it through the surgery, but the grief hit her hard. Three more of her babies didn’t make it. 😞 For 24 hours, Mama couldn’t even recognize her two surviving pups. She was too weak and too heartbroken.
Watching Mama has been such a heartbreaking yet beautiful thing to witness. Animals feel love and loss just like we do.
The emergency surgery and vet care of this little family come at a cost- a cost we weren’t prepared for, but one we couldn’t turn away from.
If just 100 people give $5, that’s $500 toward saving this little family. Will you consider helping Thumbelina, Prince Cornelius, and Berkeley Beetle? 🩵

Who remembers Oscar the Grouch?!
This little fella came to us just 4 weeks old after being found abandoned at a dumpster in rough shape. He was scared, fragile, and in need of a lot of TLC.
But wow, has he blossomed! With lots of love, care, and most importantly- an amazing, attentive foster Mama, Oscar has bloomed into the happiest, most personable & loving little charmer you’ll ever meet. 🥹🥰
He’s officially ready to say goodbye to his dumpster days and hello to a forever home! Could that be you? ❤️

This week we’d like you to meet Girlie, a sweet babydoll of a kitty who deserves so much more than life has given her. Months ago, she appeared in a well-known TNR colony—clearly out of place and desperately searching for safety. The colony caretaker brought her in to be spayed and scanned for a chip. To everyone’s surprise, Girlie was already spayed, but she had no chip, no family, and no one looking for her.
We vaccinated her, gave her an ear tip, and sent her back to the colony, hoping she’d simply lost her way and would find her home. But then came the coldest night of the year. Girlie was found on the caretaker’s back steps, curled into the tightest little ball, trying to survive the bitter cold. The caretaker couldn’t bear to send her back out again. It was decided—Girlie’s days of braving the outdoors were over.
Once she was safe inside, it became clear something wasn’t right. Eating was painful for Girlie. She would turn her head and close her eyes with every bite, trying her best to ignore the agony. After being evaluated, we discovered her teeth were causing her tremendous pain, and now she’s undergoing dental surgery to give her the relief she so desperately needs.
Girlie is truly a symbol of the heartbreaking overpopulation crisis all throughout our country. Beautiful, loving pets like her go unclaimed every single day, left to fend for themselves in harsh and unforgiving conditions. 😞
Will you spare $5 to help cover the cost of Girlie’s surgery? 🙏🏼

What vet do y’all use? Could we pay on any balance there? I had donated some brand new blankets and money last weekend!
Donated. Good luck, Girlie!
Thank you for getting her the help she needs and letting her be indoors again too. 🙏🏻❤️ She looks nearly identical to one of my rescues who had all his teeth pulled two years ago. 🥹 I hope she heals well and finds the perfect home too. ❤️❤️
