VOLUNTEER/FOSTER
Love is all you needOur volunteers and fosters are an integral part of what we do, and we are constantly in need of fosters and volunteers. Fostering helps us save lives by providing a temporary, loving, and restful retreat for animals in need. We provide all supplies and cover all vet care; fostering does not cost you anything but time and love!
We are always in need of volunteers! From helping at our events to taking care of animals and assisting at the clinic, we have several volunteer opportunities available.
ADOPT
FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIENDOne of the best ways to reduce the overpopulation of stray or unwanted pets is to adopt! Our rescue program is for dogs, cats, birds, guniea pigs, ferrets and small animals that are pulled from community owners and local municipal shelters. Transports are utilized often, and our partnerships with our networking rescues are invaluable. We are proud to uphold an unfaltering relationship with the Bulloch County Animal Shelter and its wonderful staff.
All of our animals are spayed/neutered and given all vaccinations before they are released to their new home.
September Stats Are In! 😻
We couldn’t have made such a difference without the unwavering support of our incredible community—volunteers, fosters, donors, and friends like YOU! 🫶🏼
To the adopters who opened their hearts and homes to a homeless pet, THANK YOU for giving them the gift of a second chance and a forever family.
To our amazing fosters who provide a warm, loving safe space to animals in need—THANK YOU for being the bridge between their past and a brighter future.
To the donors whose generosity makes every single one of these successes possible, THANK YOU for believing in our mission and helping us make a difference.
To the volunteers who pour their time, energy, and passion into our cause, THANK YOU for being the heartbeat of our organization.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to our entire community. Here's to an even better October! 🩵💛 ... See MoreSee Less

Do you have the capability to see if a dog is micrchipped
Hurricane Helene has left a trail of devastation and hardship across our region. Many in our community have lost their homes, livelihoods, and access to the basic necessities we often take for granted. With roads still impassable and supplies scarce, countless families are facing the heartbreaking reality of not being able to feed their beloved pets.
We are committed to stepping up for our community in this time of crisis. So far, we've distributed over 1,000 pounds of pet food across our county and two others. Tomorrow, a 4,100lb donation is coming in from Hills Pet Nutrition so that we can supply 6 MORE counties with resources for pets. And yet, the need continues to grow as even more neighboring counties reach out for assistance. Those still trapped in their homes are relying on us—and on you—to ensure their pets are fed and cared for. It brings literal tears to our eyes thinking of how worried someone would be knowing their best friend may go without.
Our first order of pet food alone cost $800, and that’s only a fraction of what’s needed to sustain these animals during this disaster. While families focus on restocking their own groceries, we are dedicated to making sure their pets do not go hungry.
We are continually inspired by the love and resilience of our community. Neighbors are helping neighbors, strangers are reaching out with open hearts, and our local heroes—volunteers, first responders, linemen, and community leaders—are working around the clock to restore hope and normalcy. 🙏🏼
For just a few dollars, you can help fill a pet’s bowl and ease the heavy burden these families are carrying. Whether you can give financially, donate a bag of food, or simply share a message of encouragement to our amazing staff and volunteers who are working around the clock, your support means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. ❤️

We will be closed to wellness appointments for the remainder of the day in order to prepare pet food for distribution to needy communities in our immediate area due to storm devastation. If you would like to donate any brand of dog or cat food we would greatly appreciate it.
As things are starting to return to normal for some...others have not been so lucky. Several of our foster families are still without power.
We would like to be able to take at least a little of their burden away and move their current fosters. We have kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs of all ages needing a temporary place to crash. All supplies are provided.
If interested please apply at www.fixingtheboro.com/foster . ... See MoreSee Less

Today, we come together for two incredibly sweet brothers who need our help to ensure their golden years are filled with the love and care they so deeply deserve.
Winslow, 16, and his younger brother Gideon, 8, have spent their entire lives by the side of their devoted owner. They were her world, and she was theirs. But Alzheimer’s, in all its cruelty, began to rob her of the ability to care for them. 💔 The disease stole her memories, her strength, and eventually, her ability to tend to the two lives that brought her so much joy. Despite the family’s best efforts, the medial care these boys required grew beyond what they could manage.
Winslow is suffering from a heart murmur/ heart disease, and some of the worst dental disease we've seen. His poor little body is covered in thick, elephant-like skin from untreated allergies and a severe flea infestation. His ever-faithful sidekick, Gideon, is also in need of extensive dental care to ensure he can thrive in his final years. You can clearly tell how loved and cared for these boys once were, and now it’s our turn to ensure they get the care they need. 💛
Their medical care comes at a significant cost, and we’re reaching out for support to provide Winslow and Gideon with the health and comfort they deserve in their golden years. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing their story—help us give these sweet brothers the same love and care they've been surrounded by entire lives!
